Describe the Issue

The tabs panel autohide is broken in Firefox 135. Tried to turn on and off the ultima.enable.js.config in the about:config page, but still has some problems. And in my opinion the animation with this disabled is a little bit clunkier(?) compared with it enabled in Firefox 134. Please check the video. Im usinng FF Ultima 1.9.8, Windows 11.

Expected Behavior

Work properly and smoothly as in Firefox 134

Platform/Desktop

Windows

Web Browser

Firefox

Keep ultima.enable.js.config off.

We are two months ahead of this update. It's been long discussed and worked on here #207 (first 7 comments). There are no fixes that allow tab auto-hiding with the new sidebar splitter they added into the 135 update. You can either go the auto-config route #227 or settle for the hack that I did (which involves shrinking the vertical tabs to 100px and hiding the extra space behind the browser content, this is why it appears like their is a stutter in animation).

Also #248, fortunately there is more confirmation that firefox developers are actively working on autohiding themselves. So in due time, this issue of fighting the default design of the Browser will be no more.

"Its great to see all the interest in the sidebar and vertical tabs! We are working on expand on hover - its not quite ready but will be available soon. 🙂"

Thank you for responding and the explanation. Appreciate it. Its nice to know that native auto hiding feature is comig soon to Firefox. As for now I'll try doing the hack you suggested.
