Breedbase v1.92 and v1.86: Trial phenotype download missing plots (regression) #5916

Description

@laguem

This is a follow-up to issue #3680, which has resurfaced as reported by our breeder team while using Breedbase v1.92 and v1.86.

We are having an issue with downloading trial data and keeping the missing data when there was no data collected for a plot. Our breeders are pretty sure that this is a recent issue.

Summary:

  • When downloading trial data, some plots with no phenotype data are missing from the export file.
  • Even empty plots are required to complete the spatial grid for analysis, so they should not be filtered out.
  • According to breeder testing with Breedbase v1.92, this issue appears to be present again.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a trial with plots that have no phenotype data.
  2. Download trial phenotypes using Breedbase v1.92 and v1.86.
  3. Observe that plots with no data are missing from the downloaded file.

Expected Behavior:

  • All plots should be included in the phenotype export, even if they have no phenotype values.

Additional Context:

  • Makes spatial analysis difficult if plots are missing.
  • This appears to be a regression or un-addressed edge case from the original feature request.
