the programmer is serious about only supporting Arch.
i thought CachyOS will be fine, because it's based on Arch.

i'll try again in a few version.

note: i'm not asking for help there are other shells that are great also
and i like testing each new random ones.

Out of interest what was the issue if you know? I'm installed on CachyOS and it works just fine, and I'm fairly sure @snowarch also uses CachyOS. If you do want to try again select KDE in the CachyOS installer and run the install script from there.

oh it was conflict errors with other shells ...
i have DMS and Noctalia ... they can be side by switched to easily.
but i've ran into a bunch of shells that don't play nicely.

i think if there was a force-install option. it would have worked.

Hey hello!
Well, incompatibility in how and what to install each Shell is to be expected, since each one applies solutions in different ways and methods.
It would help me and future users if you opened an issue explaining the error in more detail, because otherwise it's like navigating blindly!

after convincing myself to take the leap ... uninstalled the other shells to get this one.
and it worked...obviously had to tweak the configs.
but pretty much smooth.

note: an idea if someone wants it ...
a config exporter that can convert them for all the different shells.

Absolutely love how well optimised and well put this shell is ❤️, tho one question i accidentally closed the welcome page when first launched the shell, any way to relaunch the welcome page ?

Hey! Thanks, although there's still a lot of work to be done.
The Welcome app is just a quick overview of some options you might be interested in. That said, a vast number of customizations are available in Settings UI (Super + comma), so feel free to explore them!

I don't recommend relaunching the welcome app so that it doesn't reset certain things to default.

Thank you so much for letting me know, really sorry fro the late reply, yeah i tinkered a bit with the setting and this has become my main shell, Awesome work man genuinely love this, a tiny thing, is there a way using the shell to add window rules? like i can in settings for keybinds, is there a page or setting for window rules? or would i need to open the config.kdl, Cheers

Currently, in the Settings UI - Compositor tab, there are a few things that can be edited, and several Windows Rules.
In the .config/Niri folder you will find that it is modularized in conf.d where the window rules file and other files are located.
The Settings UI Compositor section is still under work, but I will eventually improve it over time. I'm glad you like it!

Oh got it, so not a proper tab or section dedicated for custom rules, and or similar stuff?, ill then edit the file manually, thanks for letting me know

Have another question, is there a way enable the Night Light mode on start up? i have to manually enable it every time i boot, thanks

Right-clicking the toggle opens a menu where you can select "automatic," and it will be saved persistently. You can also set the times it activates and deactivates.

wlsunset is already instealled, i could add that to spawn-at-start in the conf but idk if that wil interfere with Inir NightMode toggle

I've updated inir to 2.28 and make sure that was add a new mascot name kira, but the asset was not loaded, why?
