How / what mqtt payload do I send to actually turn on the light?

MQTT newbie here. And I am sure it is a super dumb question for people who knows their way around mqtt.

I think I am close: The setup is ready, I have the web page; token ok; and I can actually control my lights from the web ui.
from what I can tell, the mqtt topics would update accordingly, whenever I change something about the bulbs, from the web ui.

Now. How do I actually control the lights via MQTT exactly? Do I... publish on / off... under a certain topic? or send 0 / 1 to the status topic? or is there some command format? It's likely documented already, and I just don't know what I'm doing.

For reference, using mqtt explorer I can see these about the KitchenLight.

Everything largely follows the Home Assistant format.
So using the example in your image for On/Off send 1/0 to the switch topic: light/2F/KitchenLight/216382054400156703/switch
For brightness, you can send from 1-100 to the brightness/set topic: light/2F/KitchenLight/216382054400156703/brightness/set
