Great work! But I have a question.

What is the difference between the PEPMASS and PRECURSOR_MZ fields? Why not just keep one of them?

PEPMASS and PRECURSOR_MZ essentially represent the same information i.e. the precursor mass/charge (m/z) of the ion. The reason we include both fields is for compatibility across different tools and libraries. Some preprocessing pipelines or software only recognize one of these metadata fields, so including both helps avoid potential issues or errors when using Spectraverse with a variety of downstream tools.
