It looks like nullaway is partially hooked up in this project, but it doesn't really seem to be working. You can clearly violate @NotNull and not even get a warning (let alone a build failure). We should fix this.

It looks like ./gradlew build might actually be running the nullaway checks, but ./gradlew assemble somehow bypasses it?!? 🤯 Gradle nonsense.
