Nice! I wonder how much percentage-wise is Shoelace and how much "div soup" though ( I assume this is closed source)? Especially for the top navigation bar /side bar (which I do not see on the screenshot, but assume it is there)

This is interesting !So, you enhance Shoelace with a few additional web web components (<rdhc-*>) to tackle the important layout and overall framework. Better than the usual "div soup", but still some lingering questions - this stuff should have been provided by Shoelace by now, instead of you having to write additional web components for such common stuff.

The only widgets I really needed to implement myself were a date and time picker and a tag input (and I was able to make use of Shoelace components in implementing both of those). There's also a reimplementation of a readonly rating component, but that will go away once Shoelace 2.5.0 releases

..what i meant was that someone had to write <rdhc-*> web (top-level) components, because there was nothing like it in Shoelace...

That's because it's using Lit Element as a framework. 99% of those components are specific to the site functionality.

https://chromestatus.com/ is using shoelace for most form fields, expandable help details for form fields, dialogs, and several more details. Most of the rest of the UI is generated by our own lit components. The source is at https://github.com/GoogleChrome/chromium-dashboard

I ran a few of the web sites in this thread through Chrome inspector .. here is what I see:
You guys are using traditional HTML (the usual "div soup plus tons of cryptic CSS" ) for all important scaffold parts -top navigation, layout, etc.,Shoelace web components are used sparingly, maybe inside, once you login, etc.

Maybe this is the design philosophy behind Shoelace (being minimal), but I was hoping for a lot more comprehensive web components coverage for all aspects of a web app - navigation, top bar/bottom bar/side navigation (e.g less "divs" more "sl-components").

I am comparing to SAP UI5/NordHealth/IBM Carbon, and I can see such top-level components there, also tabular data components, etc...

This is really cool. I especially like the guided tour you made out of <sl-popup>. I have one of those on my wishlist as something I'd love to add to the library at some point. 😄
