I have finished the analysis of the issue of blurring

This is a rendering layer incompatibility on Android:
How the blur works:

• Lines 87-95: Creates a BlurView that uses RenderScript/RenderEffect to blur the Android view hierarchy behind it
• Lines 192-210: Applies a gradient mask using dispatchDraw() with PorterDuff.Mode.DST_IN

Why Skia components don't blur:

1. BlurView captures/blurs from the standard Android view hierarchy
2. Skia Canvas (Stars.tsx:29) renders to a separate OpenGL/Vulkan texture surface
3. These two rendering systems operate independently - Skia's surface isn't part of the view tree that BlurView can capture

In your Stars component:
<Canvas style={{ width: 80, height: 24 }}> // Skia surface

<Rect width={80} height={24} color={'yellow'} /> // Rendered to GPU texture

This is a known limitation when mixing Skia with view-hierarchy-based effects on Android.

As I understand, the issue with ProgressiveBlurView is also related to Vulkan? The Skia component scrolls above the header.

Yeah i think so, im looking into a solution now if i can do a general blurring method

I did some investigation and found out that Android 12+ supports blur using RenderEffect.createBlurEffect. Unfortunately, I don’t have much experience with Android development, but if it’s possible to implement this at least for Android 12+, that would be great

it isn't performant and it doesn't work super good (Already tried it)! also I'm using a third party library that handles the blur!
keep in mind that blur on android isnt as good as iOS, and it consumes a lot of ressources
