NEWS FOR 2025-12-21
The strings module was compiled in Pascaline. In addition, the parse module was created, but that is not a Pascaline standard module.
The first external module, services, was created. However, the linkage for that was (IMHO) too expensive, and I decided to hold off on the other external modules until C external interface gets improved. This also holds off on the planned version 0.4 release, mainly because I don't want to unleash a big change to the documentation twice.
The plan for 0.4 is to make C integration as smooth as possible, meaning that in the majority of cases, just writing a function description in Pascaline is sufficient to do the interface work. That, along with ch2ph, will open up the world of C to Pascal-P6, and thus the rest of the programming world, since most interfaces are designed in C or around C.
So wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
