BookHandler$1 Error - crash while trying to load Minecraft

I have many mods running, including things like Optifine, but I am encountering an error today that wasn't present yesterday. No changes have been made between the two days, and this error prevents Minecraft from loading

I'm unfamiliar with Java coding, though I could probably finagle some edits on my end with a little information on what to look for and a good IDE or something

I have the same bug. The official minecraft launcher has made a language update and maybe another things and now the mod crash. I managed to launch it less than 4 hours ago. I started the game less than 4 hours ago (before the update) and it starts correctly.

I'm able to confirm this bug. My pack was working fine last night, but I'm getting the same crash trying to start MC this morning. I installed only ExU2 in a testing instance, and got the same crash. I've attached the log below.

Same thing here, launched it 30 minutes ago and it was working fine. Launched it 5 minutes ago and it crashes.

It seems the Minecraft Launcher has done a language update and it's broken something to do with en_us.json - possibly removed the file?

Any idea where this file is supposed to be, I have a couple of instances where I could pick it up and lock it perhaps so it can't be deleted for a temporary fix maybe

Hum, I may have a fix, for anyone that can try it, update the bookshelf mod to the latest alpha version, I think it might not be extrautilities that is the problem here cause I load it fine in twitch.

I don't have bookshelf and I still get the EU2 crash.

I upgraded bookshelf on Foolcraft 3 and it didnt fix this issue (running via MC)

Turns out that I might have been wrong here, but twitch load the pack fine, when I copy it to MultiMC it crash.

I believe it is caused through the Minecraft Launcher, which is why Twitch launches it fine, as it didn't download the language update. It has nothing to do with any other mod.

We are using Twitch and have the crash too.

I'm testing different approach, just copied the mods folder from my MultiMC instance to my twitch copy and trying to load at the moment, twitch use an old copy of the old Minecraft launcher in my case, you can decide in the twitch config which one it will use.

F3UR10, can you go into your settings and make sure the Jar Launcher option is on? Gendustry users are say that fixed their problem.
