Description
This is a tracking issue for the RFC "Linking modifiers for native libraries" (rust-lang/rfcs#2951) accepted through MCP rust-lang/compiler-team#356.
The feature gate for the issue is #![feature(native_link_modifiers)]
.
About tracking issues
Tracking issues are used to record the overall progress of implementation.
They are also used as hubs connecting to other relevant issues, e.g., bugs or open design questions.
A tracking issue is however not meant for large scale discussion, questions, or bug reports about a feature.
Instead, open a dedicated issue for the specific matter and add the relevant feature gate label.
Steps
- Implement the RFC - Implement RFC 2951: Native link modifiers #83507
- Adjust documentation - Document native library modifier syntax and the
whole-archive
modifier specifically reference#1170 - Stabilization PR - Stabilize native library modifier syntax and the
whole-archive
modifier specifically #93901
