According to https://pins.rstudio.com/articles/pins-update.html we need to upgrade our API, however, we use Digital Ocean, which seems to not have support for the new API.

I'm happy to contribute to this project by writing up a pull request to update the documentation, but what should it say? Should users attempt to use s3 boards (since DO is s3 compliant) or should they wait on that feature being released before the old api is deprecated?

That is a great idea, @kieran-mace, thank you!

We have a teeny bit of Digital Ocean guidance on this page for board_s3(), like here:
https://pins.rstudio.com/dev/reference/board_s3.html#details

I would say we should add a row for board_register_dospace() on the vignette about updating and then say something like:

Use board_s3() with the full URL of your S3-compatible Digital Ocean storage endpoint

How does that sound?
