messenger button only opens a page to download messenger

appears the user agent is incorrect triggering it to think its a normal mobile browser and to download messenger.

opening messaging with the in page button is very glitchy, messages show up like in a full size page on the bottom, but text entry is extremely glitchy, cursor jumps around when typing and the window lags or closes.

unable to send photos, can't toggle permission on in settings.
