On input \implies, the output is arrow.r.double.long, but the more idiomatic Typst output would be ==>. Same thing for \to being arrow.r instead of ->, etc.

Yes, this is in the roadmap. But it will take some time to implement.
Please wait for next major update. (No target date promised) Or I will be happy if anyone can contribute to this feature.
