The two warnings are because you need pytest tests to let it detect the configuration file in the test directory.
pytest tests
The skipped tests are intentional.
The error is weird. I don't see any qutip error message in it, everything is from pytest. Is the pytest version compatible? Which version is it?
Just for completeness, could you also provide the content of qutip.about()?
