Hello,

can you improve the installation of the package? Step 3 of the instruction to copy manually the apt.dll is not the way to do that!
One possible option would be to add the folder to envirnmental variables.

Suggestion 1: Add the folder containing the apt.dll to the environmental path variables
Suggestion 2: Copy the apt.dll file by executing the setup.py

My issue is, that all python packages are working after the installation as a python package. Here you invite the user to manually copy a file into the system32 folder. That is not the way to do it!

I decided to work with http://itom.rocks/ which supportes the rotation stage via the C++ Kinesis SDK.

I saw also that the Thorlabs APT Software is legacy: Thorlabs Motion Control Software

Do you have more information how long they will support apt? However, in order to be future-proof it makes more sense to use the Thorlabs Kinesis Software?!

I have no idea. I would say it makes sense for you to use the Kinesis Software if possible. APT is not really good anyway.

Hey, one example to improve the installation would be like in the pywin32 package. They have a postinstall.py setup to copy the dll into system32 folder.
