Submit a private vulnerability report through
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/security/advisories/new.
SECURITY.md records the Linux Foundation CRA stewardship statement
for Capsule's intended commercial use and emergency reporting process.
Prefix emergency report titles with URGENT; if GitHub private reporting
is unavailable or affected by an incident, contact
steward@linuxfoundation.org privately. Maintainer escalation instructions
for actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe incidents are at
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md#cra-stewardship-and-security-escalation.
SECURITY.md does not advertise a bug bounty; the false flag reflects
that documented position and needs maintainer confirmation before publication.
SECURITY.md describes reporting coverage across the projectcapsule
organization; the assessment linked below covers this repository only.
Reports cover security vulnerabilities in repositories under the
projectcapsule organization. Installation or configuration support
requests and issues unrelated to security are out of scope, as are
unverified scanner reports without confirmation that Capsule is affected.
Scope is recorded here because the scanner's si-tooling v2.2.0 parser
cannot read the schema's in-scope and out-of-scope lists.

Catalogs version 0.3.0 in Gemara v1.6.0 were approved for publication
by maintainer Oliver Bähler (https://github.com/oliverbaehler) on
2026-10-15. Scope, trust boundaries, assessed runtime revision, and
capabilities are at
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/projectcapsule/capsule/main/security/capabilities.yaml.
Threats identify existing defenses and residual risks; referenced tests
indicate coverage and do not attest passing execution. Publication
date is omitted until the approved assessment is published.
Historical prose self-assessment remains available at
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/blob/main/SELF_ASSESSMENT.md.
The threat catalog maps twelve published Capsule advisories and
records five Capsule Proxy advisories as unassessed integration risks.
Maintenance, validation, and review instructions are at
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/blob/main/DEVELOPMENT.md#security-assessment.
OSPS Baseline Level 1 evidence, the published evaluation, and the
build-workflow review are at
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/blob/main/security/osps-baseline.md.

comment: |
osps-baseline.yml configures weekly, main-branch push, and manual
Maturity Level 1 evaluations using a SHA-pinned action and its
digest-pinned scanner image. It requires the PVTR_GITHUB_TOKEN
Actions secret with repository-scoped read access to settings.
Full results are available in the job summary and retained as
workflow artifacts for 30 days; failed controls are uploaded as SARIF.
Failed controls do not fail the job, while scanner execution and
missing-artifact errors do. Configuration does not attest a passing
assessment or a completed live run.

comment: |
osps-baseline-publish.yml configures daily Privateer evaluations at
10:00 Europe/Zurich and manual runs using the trusted
pvtr-publish-results workflow at v1.
Publishing uses OIDC; scanning uses the read-only PVTR_GITHUB_TOKEN
Actions secret. GRC_NAMESPACE and GRC_RESULTS_LICENSE Actions
variables select the namespace and SPDX results license. The namespace
must trust projectcapsule/capsule as a publisher on refs/heads/main.
The caller versions the target with the workflow run's commit SHA.
Manual dry runs retain bundles without publishing. Failed Baseline
controls can be published; execution and publication errors fail.
Capsule is a CNCF Sandbox project; the Defender submission targets
OSPS Baseline Level 1. The verified run published on 2026-10-17
passed all 24 active Level 1 requirements; OSPS-BR-01.02 is retired.
Source revision, the immutable result, and control evidence are at
https://github.com/projectcapsule/capsule/blob/main/security/osps-baseline.md.

coverage.yml runs Gosec and uploads SARIF. The scanner uses -no-fail;
this records execution, not a security findings merge gate.

docker-build.yml scans the repository filesystem on selected pull
requests and uploads SARIF. docker-publish.yml scans during image
release. Both select HIGH and CRITICAL findings and ignore unfixed
vulnerabilities. No published results URL is asserted here.

publishes results, and uploads SARIF. Configuration does not attest
the current score or repository protection settings.
