Unable to delete file on desktop using Del key

Running Alpha 4

Files downloaded from Brave (as an example) to the desktop cannot be deleted with the Del key. If I create a new file or folder using the right click menu on the desktop, I can delete those items.

If I open the file viewer and navigate to the desktop I can delete the files that I couldn't directly on the desktop.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open a terminal
2. Navigate to the desktop
3. Create a file: touch test.test
4. Attempt to hit the Del key on the desktop when test.test is selected: no delete
5. Select test.test in the file viewer and hit Del key: deleted/moved to trash
