[Bug] BASS.dll missing

Everytime I launch the software, it throws in an error that I have to click OK a couple of times for it to close. Launching the app again does not throw that error and everythnig seems fine.

Are you using Windows 10 and portable version or launch the app from an unusual location?

Oops, sorry I should have provided information! Yes I am using Windows 10. And I have the application installed, no its not really an unusual location. I have it installed in the directory called "program files" in another drive. As I said, it throws that error ONLY once. So if you click OK it shows up that error again, for like 3-4 times and clicking OK for those many times makes it stops throwing that error but the software does not launch. Once we try to start the software again, it works perfectly fine. Does not display any errors. Things seem to be working fine too. I tried converting stuff, ripping CDs, didnt have any noticeable issues. Can replicate this behaviour everytime one restarts the computer.

One possible fix could be copying dll files from basslib to program root folder. It worked for me. I've also updated bass headers, see af02761

Thank you for this information however I tried copying to not only the root of the program but also to system32 and syswow64 and on reboot it still has same error. once you run it and the error shows up then as long as you don't reboot the error will not show up again but after reboot on first run it still shows error. I also tried to register the dll and it errors out. Not sure what registering a dll does anyway.

As far as updating the headers have you compiled a new dll? If so a patch with this file would be great and again I thank you for all your hard work.

If you think it would be easier to point me in the right direction and compile it myself I will take a stab at it. I normally use visual studio but will install whatever tools are needed.

Copying bass.dll to root of program worked for me. Thxs

This problem has still not been fixed in version 0.99 build 3899 downloaded today. Win 10 pro, normal installation.
Yes: copying bass.dll to root opens the program without the alert.

I believe ozok walked away from the project back in 2016 for reasons I'm still not clear on. This is a concern as the frequent updates in Windows 10 have caused many programs from even a few years ago to suddenly start breaking. This is unlike WinXP and Win7, which were pretty reliable with 10+ year old freeware.

Anyway, glad to hear the workaround is still functioning.
