As you may know, Our World In Data is participating in Google Summer of Code this year. We pride ourselves on making the world's complex problems more accessible through data, and at the heart of that is Grapher, our open source visualisation engine.

You can check out our ideas list to learn a bit more about potential projects that we had in mind, or even suggest start a discussion here if you feel that there is something else valuable that you could add to our ability to communicate with data.

How to apply

1. Let us know you're interested, by reaching out to us at [email protected]
2. Get the grapher codebase working locally for yourself
3. Review the different project options, and kick off a discussion here on Github with any questions you might have about the topics you're most interested in
4. When applications open, chat to us via email about the option you're most keen on, and draft an application based on that
