Todo: Auto check recent activity of different channels #443
Comments
Maybe we should remove talk-id and talk-iq from NSI? |
I like that @kmpoppe How does it work? Can we run it somewhere on regular refresh cycle? Of course it'd be nice if mailman showed this kind of thing on its summary page. That display looks like it was last updated several decades ago! But yeah having this for a blend of different contact channels would be really neat too. e.g. it would be nice to be able to investigate: The indonesia mailing list is very inactive, so which of the indonesia channels is most active? |
I guess to visualize the "actvity" status somehow would be really helping. means, that an algorithm should check the time of the last post and show that. |
With #532 I ran into (and thus did not update or add a sort order for)
|
(very) inactive channels can lead to frustrated visitors.
Thus, we'd need to implement a mechanism to automate a check how recent the latest activity was - that's easy with mailing lists and highly complex with channels that have no publicly accessible API that would yield such information.
I'm going to think of something as a first shot from which we can develop further.
