This will be a page (or set of pages) talking about what the contributor should expect when creating their first pull request for a project.

It is not about how to create a pull request, but what to expect as a newcomer doing their first pull request their chosen project repo.

It should include things like:

  • What state their code should be in prior to submitting the pull request
  • What kind of feedback they might expect to get
  • How to address feedback and make additional changes
  • How to handle a rejection of their pull request

On reading this content, the contributor should feel prepared for the kinds of responses they will get to submitting their first pull request for a project.
