Git submodules

I was wondering if OF submodules are needed at all.
I mean cloning apothecary and projectGenerator are more useful for OF Core developent and can be done manually.
Instead we could have a script in place where it can install the latest built projectGenerator from CI and install it in the likes of a release, but in git.
