Currently, osc collab update tries to identify patches that can be dropped, based on 'quilt' (which is rather unreliable in my experience already).
It might be a nice addition to parse the PATCH-TAG line, identify the bgo/lp/xxx bug reference mentioned in there and parse the NEWS file / ChangeLog for references of the same bug number...
If found, this could be flagged as a good candidate to be dropped.
Bonus points if also FIXME: lines are checked for bug references and those lines removed, when the bug mentioned is listed in NEWS.
