Imported from Trac ticket #155 reported by jsafley on 2011-02-14:

Currently in the Item Relation tab on the item edit page an editor can only enter an object item by its ID. A preferable way would be to use a JavaScript lightbox item selector, something like the one used in Exhibit plugin.

We actually have a patch, along with other features, which adds an autocomplete functionality to the ItemId field based on the Items' Titles. Would the maintainers be interested in this patch ?

This doesn't seem resolved even #9 and #11 discussions, no? Any movement on something better than the ID?
