I'd be willing to lend a hand in getting these binaries signed so it's easier for people to download and use. I currently have an Apple Developer Account that I use for signing another app I'm currently working on. (Alternatively, I'm certain there's probably enough interest for individuals to back the project on a monthly basis - at least enough to cover the costs of having an Apple Developer Account)

Hey Mohammad, I would offer signed binaries if there would be a cheap option, but 99$ per year for the Apple developer program is more than I'm willing to spend. I think the number of macOS users is anyway very small as there are better alternatives (Raycast) available.

If there are enough people to sponsor the cost for the Apple developer program every year then I'm willing to do it, but otherwise not.

What makes you think that?

By the way, unsigned binaries are the reason why Ueli doesn't have an auto-updater as macOS won't let you install any updates due to the missing signature.

I'd definitely be down to help!

I'm probably just biased but open sourced code allows us to implement features the community wants more directly. I think the team at Raycast and their product offering is top-notch but I'd also say the likelihood of them eventually releasing a client for Windows, MacOS, and Linux which allows syncing between them is very unlikely. Ueli might be the project that eventually implements it given enough community contribution.

I'm still using Raycast on my mac for the time being but I've started using Ueli on Linux and I see potential!

Summary:
I won't offer signed binaries for macOS until the community is sponsoring the yearly costs for the Apple Developer Program.

Solution:
If I had enough people sponsoring me every year on GitHub in order to contribute to the yearly Apple Developer Program costs, then I would do it.

I'd definitely be down to help!
