It would allow comin to for example send a notification when the deployment fails

There would also be two others ways to achieve this:

• comin exposes Prometheus metrics: an alertmanager could send an alert
• wrapping this switch-to-configuration script to detetch its failure and run an action on failure

I'd also like to have it run something like this on success as well, so I can have it pop a notification or similar. It's very in the background otherwise.

Something as simple as popping something up through dunst or mako would be great. I've had some debugging sessions where knowing when comin had finished would have been really helpful.
