Show slide numbers in lightbox?

Hiya,

I was wondering if there's a way to show the current and total slide numbers in the lightbox? So it would say e.g. "1/45" at the bottom of the lightbox.
I'm able to get the number of each slide and the total count, I'm just not sure how/if I can pass them into the lightbox? I thought about passing them into the caption but I do want to also show an image caption. Is there a way I could e.g. set a layout for the caption (like being able to override the close button layout) that would contain all the information?
(They don't need to function as actual pagination, it's just text-based)
