[Toolbar redesign] - Custom homepage doesn't work #23471

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install FF
  2. Enable toolbar redesign release experiment treatment a. Force close the app and reopen.
  3. Go to customize homepage and set a custom url as current homepage.
  4. Access a website and return to homepage.
  5. Observe

Expected behavior
Homepage should load the previously saved home page.

Actual behavior
Homepage doesn’t load the previously saved homepage.

  • Device: iPhone 16+ (18.1), iPad Air 11' (18.1)
  • Build version: 134 (48265)
  • First seen version: ?

I have a question regarding the new toolbar (treatment a experiment). The toolbar no longer includes the homepage button, which previously redirected users to their custom set homepage when tapped. Should we add this redirect behavior to the new + button instead? CC: Andres Furlan.
