Description:

We need to improve the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of the Manifest website to enhance its visibility on search engines. This includes a full site audit and the implementation of optimizations on various technical aspects.

Objectives:

1. Quick SEO Audit:

  • Review the structure of headings (H1, H2, H3...) and their hierarchy.
  • Check the quality and use of meta tags (title, description).
  • Evaluate URL performance (well-formatted URLs without unnecessary special characters).
  • Identify indexing issues (e.g., non-indexed pages, 404 errors, redirects).
  • Check the implementation of the robots.txt file and the XML sitemap.

2. Optimizations to Implement:

  • Headings and Meta Tags: Reorganize headings for logical hierarchy (one H1 per page, well-ordered secondary headings) and optimize meta tags (unique and relevant descriptions for each page).
  • Images: Optimize image sizes to improve loading times, and add clear and descriptive alt tags.
  • Site Speed: Improve overall site performance by reducing load times (CSS/JS minification, Gzip compression, caching).
  • Mobile Optimization: Check and enhance the site’s mobile compatibility to ensure SEO for mobile users (responsive display, mobile performance).
  • Internal Links: Review internal link structure to improve navigation and page indexing.

Deliverables:

  • A response to this issue describing a liste of SEO improvements to be made.
  • Proceed with implementing these optimizations on the website.

Impact:

These optimizations will:

  • Improve Manifest’s visibility in search engine results.
  • Reduce loading times and enhance the user experience.
  • Increase organic traffic and engagement with the website.

To improve the SEO of the Manifest website, I propose the following key steps:

  1. SEO Audit:

Review heading structure (H1, H2, H3) for logical hierarchy.

Check meta tags (title, description) for uniqueness and relevance.

Ensure well-structured, clean URLs.

Identify and fix indexing issues (404 errors, redirects, robots.txt).

Review XML sitemap submission.

  1. Optimizations:

Headings/Meta Tags: Organize headings and optimize meta tags.

Image Optimization: Compress images and add descriptive alt tags.

Site Speed: Minify CSS/JS, enable caching, and Gzip compression.

Mobile Optimization: Ensure full responsiveness and faster load times.

Internal Linking: Strengthen internal links and fix broken ones.

These improvements will enhance search engine visibility, site speed, and user experience, ultimately driving more organic traffic to the site. Let me know if I can start the audit and implementation.

I would love to contribute to the repo

Hi @Sauhard74, thank you for that. I think you could focus on the first point only. Point 2 is already validated.
