How to view the contents of the .et file directly

When I went through the Chakra Tutorial or the Basic Tutorial section, I learned that the .et file contains some node details, because I want to know all the communication between the source node and the destination node (i.e. who communicates with whom, what data is communicated), can I get it from the et file, and if so, how do I open the et file?
