Download failed: Failed to perform http request to https://play.googleapis.com/download/by-token/download?

Hello.
I'm currently using this on a Steam Deck (not mine so don't want to mess with it) and it used to work fine however whenever I try to update the game I get these popups at (seemingly) random intervals during the download.

• I own the game.
• I can play old versions I downloaded through this launcher fine.
• The download seems to continue after each one but once the progress bar reaches the end it still asks me to download.
• The popups aren't consistent Sometimes only happening once and other times up to 4 times.

Apologies if the solution seems obvious but I couldn't find anything else on this matter. It LOOKS to me like Google is terminating the connection prematurely but that's only a guess.

Long time passed, the nightly of the launcher (soon normal releases too like 0.15.2 or 0.16.0) now has an plan b for people with internet issues to allow using the webbrowser (a well tested tool to download files, not like this launcher) to download the wanted game version and import the files manually

Then click download apk, you will see something like

Select the Version you want, you might need to select the correct architecture from the versions dropdown

Finally via Get Download Info you get all links to the splitted apk

Press all of the blue links, probably one after the other in case your internet struggels

If clicking doesn't work select the whole text field by mouse and copy / paste it to gedit, then you can paste the links manually in the browser

The dialog doesn't show the full links so screenshots don't share the full url to the game
