Type: Feature Request

The day before, when I shut down my computer, I didn't close VS Code and just turned off the computer directly. Usually, in such cases, when I open VS Code the next day, it will automatically open the workspace I was working on the previous day (I usually have several projects open at the same time). But if I don't open it by clicking the VS Code icon, but instead open a text file through VS Code in the right-click menu, the multiple workspaces I had open before won't automatically open, and I have to open them one by one again.

VS Code version: Code 1.97.2 (e54c774, 2025-02-12T23:20:35.343Z)
OS version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.19044
Modes: Restricted

Please see if you can find any logged output that could help us find the source of the issue:

  • run code --verbose from the command line
  • reproduce the issue
  • attach the log files you find from running the command "Open Logs Folder"

Thanks!
