Change Exit Behavior from "Hide Secondary Side Bar" to "Delete Current Chat" #4191

I would personally argue that the current behavior of the Exit (X) button in the Secondary Side Bar is misleading to the user. When someone has a chat opened, and they want to close the current chat, the initial impulse would be to click on the Exit button on the top right of the chat window. Instead of closing the current chat, it closes the entire Copilot Chat Window. And to actually close the current chat, you have to click on "Show Chats..." -> "Delete Chat".

Honestly, the need to close the current chat is significantly more common than the need to hide the entire copilot chat window. And it's a lot more intuitive for the Exit button to relate to the current chat.

My suggestion would be to change the behavior of this Exit button to delete the current chat and open the most recently accessed chat. This way, users will not need to go into "Show Chat", and it is more intuitive for the chat window's Exit button.

As for the "Hide Secondary Side Bar" behavior, this could be moved into the "Views and More Actions...", since it's a less common behavior for users.

Thanks.

I think that showing and hiding views is fairly common, and this is just how all the view management works in vscode in general. You might want the + button to create a new chat
