WSL 2 -> AttributeError: 'DINOv3ViTModel' object has no attribute 'layer'

I'm using Ubuntu on WSL 2 under Windows 11, managed to pass the gated models issue but now I hit this error when running the example.py file:

Tried downgraded the transformers library but ran into other issues, I'm at a loss here.

I've run into this problem before. It might be because the Transformers version was too high. The version I had the issue with was 5.5.3, and downgrading to 4.56.0 fixed it. If you go with an even lower version, you might run into other version conflict problems.

I had the same problem. I'm getting exactly the same error and I have a simlar setup. It seems there is a fundamental mismatch between data formats in Trellis2 and the model. I can see what the difference is but I am reluctant to start rewriting Trellis2. I don't think this is a transformers issue. I will try that but basically that would not account for the fundamentally different data layout. It seems like the model and the program are from different versions/generations of development.

Has anyone else been able to get past this?

I was able to fix this but it required edits to the source code to match the software and the model. It's like having an sql program with the wrong schema. Since this was required, I don't think any fix that was done by installing versions of some other software would have helped. I would submit the changes to the project but I'm not actually an author so now sure what to do about it.
