I hope this email finds you well. First of all, I would like to express my appreciation for the incredible work you do with PowerToys. The suite of utilities has significantly enhanced productivity and usability for many Windows users, myself included.
I would like to propose a new feature for consideration: an option to completely hide the taskbar so that it remains invisible even when the mouse cursor is moved to its location. The taskbar would only appear when the Windows key is pressed.
Feature Details:
Functionality: The taskbar remains completely hidden, even when the mouse is placed at the bottom (or configured position) of the screen.
Activation* Pressing the Windows key would temporarily reveal the taskbar. The Start menu would open only after pressing the Windows key a second time.
Customization: Ideally, users could configure whether the taskbar should remain visible in specific scenarios (e.g., when a full-screen application is running).
This feature would be particularly useful for those who prefer a minimalistic workspace or need additional screen real estate without the taskbar interfering.
Please let me know if this feature is feasible and if there is any way I can contribute to its development. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Best regards,
Murat
Scenario when this would be used?
Normal operation time with desktop applications
