Testing Code App whit Sharepoint lists

Hi,
I'm playing around with Code Apps connected to a Sharepoint list: someone knows if it's possible to get the choice column schema in order to fetch the selectable values? For example: I need to creare a new item inside the Code App and I would like to have a dropdown menu with the values from the choice column schema instead of hardcoding them.
If this is not the right place to ask these kind of question, please point me to a better place where to explore these type of topic.
