The process of building the docs.microbiomedata.org site includes pulling documentation source files from upstream repositories. The pullers are implemented in pullers/ in this repository.

Today, the build process of the docs.microbiomedata.org site is only triggered by either:

  • Making changes on the main branch of the docs repo
  • Clicking "Run workflow" on the "Actions" tab on GitHub

Missing from that list is something like:

  • Making changes in the docs directories of any of the upstream repos

As a result, this docs.microbiomedata.org site could fall out of sync with the source files in the upstream repos.

This task is to (a) explore our options for triggering a build of docs.microbiomedata.org with changes being made to the docs (or whatever` directory of an upstream repo; and then (b) to implement something that accomplishes that.
