Does this actually lead to a uniform distribution of vectors? Not that it matters just out of curiosity? Some methods tend to cluster points at the poles. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33976911/generate-a-random-sample-of-points-distributed-on-the-surface-of-a-unit-sphere and https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33976911/generate-a-random-sample-of-points-distributed-on-the-surface-of-a-unit-sphere for more information.
