ECC Tools is the hosted GitHub App for rolling ECC into real repositories. It analyzes repo history and agent-related config, then opens pull requests with project-specific skills, rules, hooks, commands, manifests, and safety checks for AI coding agents. It also runs PR audits, security scans, and selective rollout planning so teams can adopt ECC repo by repo instead of installing everything at once.

What ECC Tools Is

ECC Tools is the hosted GitHub App for ECC. ECC is a system for turning the way a repository actually works into reusable guidance for AI coding agents.

ECC Tools analyzes commit history, code structure, workflow patterns, and agent-related configuration, then opens pull requests with project-specific outputs such as:

  • skills and workflow instructions
  • rules, hooks, and command scaffolding
  • install manifests and identity baselines
  • security and harness checks powered by AgentShield
  • selective rollout recommendations instead of all-or-nothing installs

What The GitHub App Adds

The open-source ECC repos give you packs, local tooling, and templates. ECC Tools adds the hosted layer:

  • issue-comment commands like /ecc-tools analyze, /ecc-tools setup, and /ecc-tools audit
  • PR checks for risky changes to hooks, agent configs, MCP settings, and other ECC-managed files
  • generated pull requests for repo-specific rollout
  • setup, doctor, repair, and uninstall planning
  • private-repo support and team rollout workflows

Why Teams Use It

  • Capture real workflows: pull patterns out of repo history instead of writing them from scratch.
  • Ship safer agent configs: review risky changes with hosted audits and check-runs.
  • Roll ECC out gradually: recommend only the components a repo needs.
  • Keep maintenance manageable: rely on manifest-driven lifecycle planning instead of guesswork.

Getting Started

  1. Install ECC Tools on a repository.
  2. Comment /ecc-tools analyze on an issue or pull request.
  3. Review the generated PR and recommendations.
  4. Merge when you are ready to adopt the changes.

Free is for public repositories and evaluation. Pro is $19/seat/month for organization installs, private repos, advanced scanning, and team rollout. Enterprise support is available by inquiry.
