Link Hints keeps track of clickable elements in the
background. So usually Link Hints already knows which elements to
create hints for.

AltShiftL works with a lot more elements than clickable elements. As of this writing, it goes through all elements on the page each time. There might be a way to optimize this.

Luckily, the shortcut is mostly pretty fast. It can slow down on larger, more complicated pages, but on the other hand it isn’t the most used shortcut either.
