Way to stop water freezing in winter

Im lookimg for a way to make it so that water doesnt freeze during winter. I dont necessarily want to disable any other features from the mod though. Im using simple ships mod, during winter, the water freezes and the players ships sink. Theres no eay to break these simple ships to pick them back so theyre just lost forever.
Could this be added as a config option?
