How to get switch working #16

Hello,
Thanks to the author and contributors of this project. I now have 2 devices running on the zigbee network with no issues.
Has anyone messed around with switches? I have a relay board connected to the ESP32-C6 and want to control it. I spent some time reading through the source codes, documentation of ESP zigbee SDK, but I am unable to make it work. Thanks for any advices.

Try to replace on_off_switch with on_off_light or on_off_output.
And re-interview in z2m.

Do you want to create a switch device or do you want to be able to control the relay through zigbee? For the latter you can use the on_off cluster like in the example:

Instead of the light you can connect an output.

Switches are currently not supported but maybe you could use a binary sensor with a automation in HA.

Yes, my goal is to control the relay. I have tried to run your snippet

Yes your setup should work, you just might want to replace switch.toggle with a lambda in order to map the register state to on/off instead of just toggling every time.

The errors are because I just pushed an update that requires to replace id of attributes with attribute_id. In your version attribute_id is not known. And light.control needs to be replaced by your switch action of course.

Looks good to me, these errors can be ignored.
It is not joining your network. Sometimes this happens to me after flashing.... resetting helps.

It worked out in the end. I tried to restart it before writing the post with no success. It has joined now...
Values seems fine, but the OnOff switch is timing out...

Sorry for the late reply. Works like a charm, thank you! In the end the on_off_light seemed to be a way to go.

But for some strange reason the humidity stopped updating periodically, the last value remains constant. Only when I query the value in Z2M, the value changes and reports to HA.
