[LSWF] iOS app: login succeeds then immediately kicks back to the initial login screen

Summary

On the Linksys iOS app, entering account credentials and submitting a
remote-account login appears to succeed, but the app is immediately kicked
back to the initial login screen instead of proceeding to the dashboard.

Environment

• Platform: iOS (physical iPhone)
• Cloud environment: QA
• Login type: remote account (Cloud login)
• Router: Velop Pro 7 (LN14PW), firmware 1.0.12.216657

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch the Linksys iOS app on a physical device.
2. Select the QA cloud environment.
3. Choose remote account login and enter valid credentials.
4. Submit the login.

Expected

After a successful login, the app lands on the dashboard.

Actual

The credentials are accepted (token is obtained) and the app briefly
transitions toward the dashboard, but within a few seconds it is thrown
back to the initial login / account-selection screen. The user cannot get
past the login screen.

Notes

• Reproducible on QA with remote-account login.
• Login appears to succeed at the network level before the kickback occurs.

Root cause: the web layer's cordova.js is incompatible with the native shell, so the deviceready event never fires

What's actually happening

The login itself succeeds (the native side obtains the access token fine). Getting kicked back to the initial screen is not a login failure — it's the web layer (Cordova/Symmetry) failing to start up after login, which trips a native-side safety mechanism that logs the user out.

After entering the dashboard, the native Dashboard starts a "WebReady" timer that waits for the webview to report deviceready. If it times out, the first time it restarts the webview, and the second time it calls logOut() directly — that is the exact action behind "enter credentials, get kicked back to the login screen."

Why deviceready never fires

• The CordovaLib bundled in the native shell (linksys-bridge) is 6.1.1, whose JS↔native bridge uses the WKWebView messageHandlers.cordova channel.
• But the web layer's platforms/ios/www/cordova.js (the JS bridge) is 4.5.3, which only uses the legacy gap://ready iframe poke and has no messageHandlers.cordova path.
• The two bridge protocols are incompatible → the exec() calls sent from JS never reach native → all sticky channels (onCordovaInfoReady, onCordovaConnectionReady, etc.) never fire → deviceready hangs forever.

Why the version mismatch exists

The platforms/ios directory carried a stale cordova-ios 4.5.3 platform (committed into git). The build flow only ran cordova prepare (which just copies artifacts) and never ran cordova platform add to align the version, so the 4.5.3 cordova.js was carried all the way into the app.

Key diagnostic log lines

• ✅ Fetch token successfully (login succeeded)
• ❌ deviceready has not fired after 5 seconds
• ❌ Channel not fired: onCordovaInfoReady / onCordovaAppVersionReady / onFileSystemPathsReady / onCordovaConnectionReady
• ❌ Did not receive DeviceReady → safety timer → logOut()

Fix

Rebuild the web layer's cordova-ios platform at 6.1.1 to match the native shell:

# then re-run: install_plugins -> grunt build -> cordova prepare ios

Also stop tracking platforms/ios in version control (treat it as a generated artifact rebuilt by the build flow) so a stale platform version can no longer pollute the build.

Verification

After the fix, logging in with a remote account on a physical iPhone against the QA environment, the native side receives event = deviceReady, successfully reaches the Dashboard, and is no longer kicked back to the login screen. All the failure log lines above are gone.

Where the changes live

All changes are in the symmetry repo (linksys-symmetry-mobile, branch release-3.6.1-linksys-git-deps), across three commits:

• 43e1e81a — Fix login kickback by untracking stale cordova-ios 4.5.3 platform
  Removes the stale 4.5.3 platform from version control and rebuilds the platform at 6.1.1 to match the native shell. This is the core fix for this issue.
• c770d5af — Pin cordova-ios platform script to 6.1.1 to match native shell
  Aligns the cordova-ios version in the package.json build script from 6.3.0 to 6.1.1, so a mismatched version can't be reintroduced later.
• da72d6d8 — Shallow-clone private plugins to avoid git.lswf.net clone hangs
  A build-flow fix made in the same batch: install_plugins.js now shallow-clones (--depth 1) the private plugins, avoiding git.lswf.net hanging while packing large repo histories during a fresh setup. Not directly related to the login kickback, but part of the same cleanup.
