When you move from one session to another, but session A you had loaded some artifact (e.g. plot, JSON output, etc) but now y ou're looking at Files from Session B (including maybe NO files) the Artifacts block is still showing that artifact from Session A. There appears to be no user controls to force a clear.
It can be surprisingly confusing since you think this is related to session B, but the image/artifact is from session A.
