Use briefs/_TEMPLATE.md for new briefs. Keep the structure stable so briefs are easy to review, cite, and compare over time.
Required sections:
- Title: concise and specific enough to cite on its own.
- Abstract: 100-150 words summarizing the question, method, and conclusion.
- Body: organized with second-level headings, short paragraphs, and evidence-backed claims.
- References: every factual claim that depends on external data, law, protocol documentation, or a third-party interpretation must be cited.
- Prefer primary sources: protocol documentation, governance forums, whitepapers, audits, legal/regulatory publications, public datasets, or official incident reports.
- Use Markdown links inline for web sources and include enough surrounding context to identify the source without opening it.
- Include an access date for volatile sources such as dashboards, market data, governance posts, or issue threads.
- For papers, include author or organization, title, year, and a DOI/arXiv/SSRN/canonical URL when available.
- Do not cite screenshots, social posts, or secondary summaries when a durable primary source is available.

All contributors must:
- Be respectful: disagreement is fine; personal attacks are not
- Cite accurately: do not misrepresent sources
- Acknowledge competing views: present opposing evidence fairly
- Disclose conflicts: if you have a financial interest in a protocol you're writing about, say so
Violations may result in removal of contributions and contributor privileges.
