see if you can get some debug logs going and do manual test for that specific folder using the CLI. This script will skip if a trailer is already in the movie folder so delete it first. You might be filtering based on resolutions. Only way to tell is on the debug logs |

I'll try the debug logs tomorrow. I haven't tried CLI. Just the Radarr integration. All 5 were newly downloaded movies where the script auto downloaded the trailer for each movie. |

Ok sounds good. The CLI is good to troubleshoot because you don't have to wait on a new download. Additionally once you get it working the way you want you can initiate a mass download for your entire library. |

Looking at this log and visiting the urls it shows, I found that Apple does indeed have 3 versions of that trailer one being 1080. The script gathers all links and qualities associated to the desired movie title and then sorts them based on the trailer's height. In this case YouTube has a 1080 version as well. This url was the first in that sorted list and it downloaded successfully so no need to grab anything else. YouTube-dl is pretty fast as it downloads the audio and video separately and then uses ffmpeg to join them back together. In this particular instance if you wanted to force apple downloads you could turn off YouTube functionality, delete the YouTube trailer from the directory, then use the CLI to download the Apple trailer. |

I plan to use your script automatically within Radarr rather than manually. Like I said, I tried 5 movies yesterday and it never grabbed the Apple trailer for any of them. For me, it would be great if it could be configured to prioritize the Apple trailers and use Youtube as the fall back. Would that be possible? |

I think I have it all figured out. In the case of Apple trailers it filters and sorts based on the clips actual "height". In the instance of the two most recent log files you have posted, TrailerTech parsed the 1080p version of the clip as 816. Since this is less than youTube's reported 1080p, it was sorted lower in the list. I have pushed a commit to the main branch which should more fairly decide which video clip is higher resolution. I will however note that in the case of Godzilla VS Kong, the first and only 1080p trailer from Apple is not large enough. The script notices this fault and skips the first Apple link and then moves to the next 1080p result which in this case is a YouTube link. |

Forgive my noobishness, but what is the proper way to update the script? I just cloned the repository again. Is that right? I then ran the script on the one example above Chaos Walking (2021) and it grabbed the Youtube trailer over the Apple. It looks like it thinks the Apple file is too small. I am curious. Does Apple deliberately have "bad" files on their servers? Why do we not trust them to give us a trailer? Why are they checked for size or length at all? |

I'm not sure they are deliberately publishing 0 length files, but they do exist. I have had issues where the script found a trailer using apple's search api and when moving to the downloading portion, the response from the url of the actual trailer has a header indicating 0 bytes. If that happens, I step back and try a different one. I've loaded these suspicious urls into a browser and get the same results. Without this check, you end up with trailers of 0 bytes. |

That is unfortunate. The responses I am getting are in the 500 range. I wonder if they are switching to a multiple file approach like some streaming video platforms started using to prevent downloads? It's a shame yt-dlp doesn't support the apple trailers site. |

Interesting observation. I think the search api returns a list of available urls for that specific search criteria which includes resolution details. YouTube works completely different and doesn't resolve video resolution and audio preference until the url is loaded based on user preference. If apple has changed, it may be time to update that portion of the script. |

I have tried 5 movies so far and I made sure that they all have trailers available on Apple. But for every one the trailer downloaded is MP4, not MOV and they are much smaller size (30-50MB) than I usually see for Apple trailers.
