Show battery percentage on the home screen

I'd like to hide the status bar in the launcher (and there is an option for that) but I still want to see the battery level. Having an option to show it under the clock would be nice IMO.

Being able to show the battery level is a good idea! I am interested in suggestions for the UX of this. I hesitate to add any additional widgets to the home-screen, but it seems like a battery indicator could be implemented very subtlety.

They do have a very neat battery indicator that is just a circle around the clock. Full circle is 100% charge, quarter circle is 25%.

I imagined a plain battery icon + percentage text near the date. Perhaps it could be shown only if the battery is lower than X%. Or maybe the circle could work

Or you could add a suble progress bar line (and optional percentage) underneath the time and date.
