Chore: Tidy up existing code #7

What
Our codebase currently has a lot of old code that we don't use. Some of it appears in files that can be deleted (e.g. src/app/components/upload-file), but most of it appears as comments in files that we do use.
It would be good to work through the whole repo and remove any old bits of code from comments. This will make it clearer what code we are actually using, and should make it easier to keep working on the code.
