Thank you for paying attention to the "little things", and thank you for writing about it -- I learned things. (I didn't know about that language thing at all. Huh.)

On the logo, you probably don't want an explanation in the alt text for an image that's going to be on every single page; a regular reader with a screenreader will have to keep dealing with it. That's something that would work well on an "about" page, so people curious enough to read the "about" page at all will see it then, and then they'll know and won't need to see it again.

(Not that that's an excuse for [Stack Overflow ignoring the problem](It's not like I'm [Stack Overflow), of course.)

Did you have some Markdown gone astray here?

(While I was there, by the way, there was only one time I felt that anybody "in charge" at Stack Overflow cared at all about visual accessibility, and that was when I complained about the new topbar and Joe Friend took me seriously and met with me so I could show him some accessibility problems I struggled with on a daily basis. He fixed the topbar, improved the contrast on the supercollider, and unfortunately couldn't do anything about flag/annotation colors, which were still broken a year later. SO lost a lot when Joe left, but probably didn't care.)
